Personnel Management


Navigating to Personnel Management in the Platform Administrator Unit

  • Select the Platform Administrator unit in your Nuventive Improvement Platform

  • Open the main menu with the “hamburger” icon

  • Open the Personnel Management category dropdown

  • From here, you can access the Manage Personnel, Assign Units to a User, Assign Users to a Unit and Personnel Dashboard menu items

  • Note: Your instance may use different naming conventions for category and menu items


Verifying Users Exist and Checking Permissions

  • Open the Manage Personnel menu item in the Personnel Management category dropdown

  • Search for a user in “Filter by Keyword” or scroll through the table to verify a user exists in the platform

  • To check what unit(s) and role(s) have been assigned to a user, select the blue number under the “Permissions” column


Adding New Users by SSO Sync (Azure Active Directory Users Only)

  • Open the Manage Personnel (SSO Sync) menu item in the Personnel Management category dropdown

  • To see if the user already exists, use the Filter by Keyword field to search

  • If the user does not already exist, proceed with the steps below

  • To add new users, they first need to be added to your institution’s provisioning group that is linked to your Nuventive Improvement Platform. Your provisioning group is most likely managed by your institution’s Information Technology (IT) department, or you may have access yourself. Ensure the new user(s) is added to the provisioning group before proceeding.

  • Once the new user(s) have been added to your institution’s provisioning group, return to the platform and select the SYNC USERS button at the top right of the page

  • You can search in the Filter by Keyword field to verify they have been added



Adding New Users Manually

  • Open the Manage Personnel menu item in the Personnel Management category dropdown

  • To see if a user already exists, use the Filter by Keyword field to search

  • If the user does not already exist, select the ADD USER button at the top right of the page

  • Complete all fields (such as First Name, Last Name and Email) for the new user

  • Select the SAVE button at the top right of the page


Adding New Users by Spreadsheet

  • Open the Manage Personnel menu item in the Personnel Management category dropdown

  • To see if a user already exists, use the Filter by Keyword field to search

  • If the user does not already exist, select the dropdown next to the ADD USER button at the top right of the page

  • Select UPLOAD USERS VIA SPREADSHEET

  • Select the Choose File button and upload your edited spreadsheet

  • Select UPLOAD


Assigning User Level Permissions

  • Open the User Level Permissions menu item in the Personnel Management category dropdown

  • Select the user in the User drop down who you would like to assign permissions; you can also search within this field

  • Select the access you would like to grant in the Role dropdown under each template area

  • Note: You must select a role for each template area you are granting permissions

  • Select unit(s) from the left table and move them to the right table to apply the permissions

  • Select the SAVE button at the top right of the page to complete


Assigning Unit Level Permissions

  • Open the Unit Level Permissions menu item in the Personnel Management category dropdown

  • Select the unit in the Unit drop down where you would like to assign permissions; you can also search within this field

  • Select the Role dropdown and choose the access you would like to grant under each template area

  • Select user(s) from the left table and move them to the right table to apply the permissions

  • Select the SAVE button at the top right of the page



Personnel Dashboard

The Personnel Dashboard area shows personnel analytics for your platform. There are three sheets accessible at the bottom of the screen for Access and Roles, Planning Audit Log and Courses List analytics.

The Access and Roles sheet shows analytics with filters that can be applied to the Unit, Role, Name and Email, and Last Login columns.

The Planning Audit Log shows analytics with filters that can be applied to the Template, Unit and for Date Modified.

The Courses List sheet shows analytics with filters that can be applied to the Course Number, Course Name and Owning Unit Name.
